About this plant
Epipremnum pinnatum 'Cebu Blue' is a tropical aroid highly prized for the bluish, slightly metallic color of its leaves, especially visible in young, well-cultivated plants. Unlike other more common Epipremnum varieties, this one has a more elegant and less conventional appearance, with elongated, fine-textured leaves that can range in color from grayish-green to silvery-blue depending on the light and the plant's stage of development.
It can be grown as a hanging plant, allowing its stems to cascade naturally, or as a climbing plant trained on a support. This second option allows its potential to be better appreciated: as it climbs and matures, the leaves can increase significantly in size and develop fenestrations, displaying a much more jungle-like and structured appearance.
What makes it special
Its main appeal lies in the combination of color, vigor, and transformation. Even in its juvenile stage, it's interesting due to the blue-green hue of its leaves, but its true value emerges when grown with support and good light conditions: the plant grows larger, changes its appearance, and can produce larger, more divided leaves.
This plant is especially interesting for those seeking a distinctive aroid, easy to integrate into a collection, yet with more character than the more common pothos varieties. It exhibits vigorous growth, responds well to controlled cultivation, and allows the buyer to decide whether to keep it as a hanging plant or train it into a more mature climbing form.
Grown in El Campito Verde
At El Campito Verde, we don't treat this plant as a simple commodity for immediate purchase and resale. Our specimens are cultivated and acclimatized in controlled facilities, with adequate light, ventilation, stable ambient humidity, and a substrate mix prepared to promote healthy root development.
For Epipremnum pinnatum 'Cebu Blue', we use an airy and well-draining substrate, suitable for fast-growing aroids, which retains moisture without compacting or suffocating the roots. This ensures the plant reaches the buyer with a growing environment that meets its actual needs.
Basic care
Light: It thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate medium light, but will grow more slowly and with less vibrant leaves.
Watering: Water when the top of the substrate begins to dry out. It is not advisable to keep it constantly soaked.
Substrate: airy mix for aroids, with good moderate moisture retention and clear drainage.
Humidity: It adapts to domestic conditions, although it appreciates medium-high ambient humidity.
Temperature: preferably keep above 16°C. Avoid intense cold and dry drafts.
Difficulty level: easy to intermediate. It's not a complicated plant, but it improves a lot if grown with good light, controlled watering, and a support to climb.
Like many aroids, it can be toxic if ingested, so it should be kept out of reach of pets or small children.
Before you buy
Plants are living things, and each specimen may show slight differences compared to the photographs: size, number of leaves, intensity of the blue hue, stem length, or growth pattern. These variations are normal and part of the plant's natural development.
